Jūlija Zakirova

Jūlija Zakirova is one of the most original Latvian jazz singers. Jūlija studied vocal art both at the Academy of Contemporary Art (Moscow) and at the jazz department of the Riga Cathedral Choir School.
Julija won the Grand Prix SONY JAZZ STAGE, participated in various jazz festivals - Kaunas Jazz, Pori Jazz, Jazz Kaar, Saulkrasti Jazz, as well as collaborated with the band Very Cool People, pianist Madars Kalniņš, Māris Briežkalns (Jazz in Latvia 2008, The best of SONY Jazz stage), singer Jānis Stībeli, saxophonist Deniss Paškevičs (participation in the recording of the "Dāvā sapni", singer Intars Busulis, composer and pianist Raimonds Paulus (recording and presentation of the "My Favorite Melody" CD) and many others.

Julia has added her knowledge at New Park Music School, (Dublin). Returning to Latvia, Jūlija graduated from the Jāzeps Vītolas Academy of Music of Latvia in 2020, and started her career in pedagogy. At the same time, the singer started composing, developing her original work.
