The Best of Riga Jazz Stage 2014

The selection of the best compositions of the international competition of jazz artists "Riga Jazz Stage 2014". The singer category is represented by Kristīne Prauliņa, Vytautė Pupšytė (Lithuania), Tamir Grinberg and Ayse Cansu... Tanrikulu (both Turkey), Isabella Lundgren (Sweden), Charlotta Kerbs (Finland), Malene Kjærgård (Denmark), Ajda Stina Turek (Slovenia). and Loren Battley (USA), and saxophonists: Dāvis Jurka, Toms Rudzinskis and Batuhan Salliel (Turkey). The selection includes well-known jazz compositions composed by Harold Arlen, Andrew Stroud, Cole Porter, Billie Holiday, Thelonious Monk, Carl Fischer and Buddy Johnson, as well as a legendary Turkish folk song created by Aşik Veysel, as well as old works by the performers themselves (Dāvis Jurka, Malene Kjærgård). The compilation was produced by Māris Briežkalns.

The compositions were recorded on April 9-11, 2014 at Splendid Palace.
