Mārcis Auziņš

Mārcis Auziņš (born January 28, 1983) guitarist, composer and arranger.

He started his musical career as a pianist, graduating from the piano department of the Madonna Children's Music School. After graduating from music school, he turned to playing the guitar and continued his studies in the rock music class of Riga 100th Secondary School. After that, he graduated from the music manager's department of the Riga Cathedral Choir School, as well as the modern rhythmic music (jazz music) department of the same school. In 2005, he won the 2nd prize in the Baltic jazz guitarists competition "SONY JAZZ STAGE 2005" in the jazz guitar nomination.

Graduated from the jazz department of the Jāzeps Vītolas Latvian Academy of Music and obtained a bachelor's degree in the specialty of jazz guitar. 2016. releases his first solo album "VIENS", which is nominated for the Latvian music recording of the year award in the instrumental and cross-genre music nomination.
